Inter-House Sports Teams
At Toowoomba North State School we have two sporting houses. These are Annand and Groom. Students are allocated a sporting house based on the number of students from the year they are born. From here that number is divided evenly across both of the house. Siblings will remain in the same house as each other.
Annand- Blue
Groom – Yellow
In Term One, all Prep students will be given a house certificate to welcome and introduce them to their house. This will be presented to them by our sports captains. Students are strongly encouraged to dress in their house colours whilst attending all sports carnivals. Clothing must be sun safe and suitable to participate in and their shoes must be enclosed. House trophies are awarded and calculated based on Prep-Year Six participants points.

Swimming Lessons
Prep – Year Six students participate in swimming lessons during Terms 1 & 4. These lessons are designed and lead by a qualified HPE Teacher and supported by Two to Four Teacher Aides depending on students' individual needs. Students are assessed and allocated into groups based on their current swimming abilities. Permission notes are sent home detailing the importance of swimming, necessary clothes and equipment to bring and lesson times. These notes are to be signed and brought back to the main front office. Students are to wear a swimming shirt, suitable togs and a swimming cap. Goggles can be worn but are not mandatory. Also, remember to pack a towel in a suitable swimming bag. All personal items should be labelled with your child's name on them.
YEAR 5/6 INTERSCHOOL SPORT
All year 5/6 students will be given the opportunity to participate in Inter-School Sport on Fridays in Term 3 and 4. Teams travel by bus to various sporting fields, venues and schools across Toowoomba to play against other school teams. The focus of these games is for maximum participation and enjoyment. There are no scores or points kept for winning the game. Teams train during the week at lunchtimes available to the Teacher who is coaching that team. There is a cost associated with this activity for Term 3 which is approximately $35.00. This fee covers the cost to hire buses, purchase and update sporting equipment and uniforms for teams. Term 3's sports option is soccer and Term 4's option is basketball.
